Tokyo Session Forex Trading (Results +16.3 Pips)

A quick session -- rather tired today as it was a long trading day - trading equities during the day (New York Session) and Forex during the Tokyo Session. Here are today's results. Not much to write home about, but this time I was atleast prepared to be not in a trade when the Open occured at 7:30PM EST. Ranging day as yesterday and this morning there was huge moves mostly due to a better outlook in Greece hence EU.

A shortened session as I have to leave and have some plans for the evening so couldn't really trade the rest of the Open. Made a huge mistake that cost me quite a bit by being in a short trade on the EURUSD right before the Forex Tokyo market open at 7:30PM EST. It's alright though not a huge loss though I'm down for the day - since the start of this journal I'm still up for the week. It's unfortunate but tomorrow I don't believe I'll be able to trade the overnight session at all.

Manually scalping the Tokyo session on the EURUSD and briefly EURJPY-- the scalping technique needs refinement however I ended up with a great deal of profits using a variant fading technique by doing a bit of averaging. The following link contains the entire trading log for this forex session.

Again today was a bit of an odd day trading the volatility breakouts as there was quite a bit of whipsaws - with the early morning of the New York Forex session giving up some pips on the down move of which I was able to catch about 5 Pips, and then lots of chop until an uptrend started to form. Where an X is marked in the chart was an entry that I ended up missing as I was reading some news article - I didn't chase the price however and just chalked that one up to stupidity and stayed out of the EURUSD! The other two entries afterwards weren't very fruitfull and matter of fact made me feel a little bit nervous. Click Read More To see the chart.

Trading the volatility breakouts today was a little bit hairy as there was no real discernible trend as price chopped and whipsawed quite a bit. If you didn't have your wits about you, you could certainly end up on the wrong side of the trade and get whipsawed quite a bit.

Here are today's trades. They look like a lot of trades, however I actually had only made 3 trades in total. 2 Longs and 1 Short, however part of my strategy is to take a portion of the trade out in profit on the way, essentially banking some profits immediately and letting the rest ride on to more profits or to break even + a couple of pips.
