    All three operating systems have applications that can run the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP).

    For Windows it is the Remote Desktop application pre-installed in your windows operating system already. Located here.

    On your home computer, click Start, point to All Programs, and then point to Accessories.

    In the Accessories menu, point to Communications, and then click Remote Desktop Connection.

    For Macs you have to download and install the Remote Desktop Client (RDP) (CoRD) for MACs (Download).

    For Linux you also have to download and install the Remote Desktop Client unless your version of *nix comes with one pre-installed. (rdesktop) for Linux (Download).
